Did you survive the blizzard?
I've been doing a lot of snow shoveling the past couple of days. My neighbor has a snow blower and it looks nice, but I would rather do it the old fashioned way and burn some calories. It's a bummer when you get things cleared out and then a snow plow goes by creating a small mountain around the cars you just cleared out.
Well, enough of that. Next week I'm going to start a series of notes and reflections from Dallas Willard's book The Spirit of the Disciplines. This is a sweet book! I just started reading it this week and had to read chapters 1 and 2 twice. Some really good stuff in there. If you have read this already I would appreciate your 2 cents as I truck through this book.

The snow that the snow plows pushed up against my car turned into blocks of ice. It took 3.5 hours to dig my car out the other day.
I read "The Spirit of the Disciplines" a few years back and have recently thought to reread it. What sticks in my memory is Willard's revolutionary view of Romans. We view Romans solely as a theological statement that we miss its meaning as a practical guide for everyday Christian living.
Wow, sorry to hear about the archeaological dig you had to do to get your car out.
Well, if you want to re-visit this book with me that would be great! I would agree about Romans being practical (although most overlook that). I can't wait to dig into this book!
I might reread it, but I would have to wait until later in the week before I begin.
