Scripture Reflection 003

Temptation

Read James 1:13-15 here or in your own Bible.

1. What do these verses suggests about Satan’s role in leading us astray?

2. Does he have a role?

3. Who, if anyone, does the blame for our sin fall upon?

4. Is this fair?

Satan Can only tempt. We alone decide weather or not to sin. We have free will. From the tree in the garden, until now,, we are lured by our own evil. That is the fruit from which we ate. It is a battle which we fight daily.
We have a daily choice. Go for the crown,or follow satans lure to death. Remember, the (crown vs 12) is King Jesus. It is he who will sustain us in life eturnal.
3. The blame is ours.
4. We chose. God is fair.

Reading a book that alluded to Satan as the author of sin. What do you think about that?

We were given the gift of free will. We make use of that freedom when we either give in to temptation or resist it. Being tempted is not the sin.
as for reading a book on satan as the author of sin, I don't think is the sin. We read God's book alluding Him to be God. Does that make us righteous? I think the answer is in how we process the information, and how wee let that information affect our lives.

Sharon,
I think the book was trying to say that sin was something Satan created when he rebelled against God. Therefore, sin was his creation, not God's. Make sense?

Tim,

I misinterpreted the question. After reading your response, I more clearly understood your question. Was satan the author of sin? No, I don't believe so. satan does have unbelievable powers. If anyone does not believe that, all they have to do is read how he devastated Job's life.

Why would God create sin when he already created perfection in the beginning? He created man to worship Him; not to sin.
